Blogging perk #87925436: forging partnerships and relationships will dope ass brands and companies.
*I was gifted this experience from Cloud 9 Living in exchange for this review, but all opinions are my own!
Cloud9Living is a website that focuses on the gift of experience. Instead of buying someone a physical, material, gift – give them something to do; Something they will remember! I love this idea and I loved that I was able to work with them.
I purchased this experience as a gift for someone, but wound up taking my dad instead – not getting into that. But regardless, it was so much fun and we had a blast! It was seriously one of the coolest things I’ve ever done and I’m so glad I got to take my dad and share that experience with him!
Once you get to the website, you just choose your location and they provide you with a list of experiences to choose from for that area. It’s SO easy!
I chose this experience because I thought it was unique and a sky tour over the ocean is just… I mean. Amazing.
And it didn’t disappoint at all!
Our tour was booked through Coastal Helicopters LLC. They were such a nice group of people and our pilot, Larry, was GREAT! The ride was 30 minutes long, and it felt like 5. We were in awe the entire time, just taking photos and talking about what we were looking at.
The flight was so easy – not what I was expecting. I’m not sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t as scary as I was thinking it would be! It was a little shakey taking off and getting up, but overall was super smooth and so great! I also thought I would have some sort of motion sickness, but I had no issues with that!
The helicopter can seat 4 people, including the pilot. The front seat where I was, was pretty roomy and comfortable, but there is less room in the back and the view for photos isn’t as good. When you get in, they give you your headset so you can talk to everyone in the helicopter! Pretty neat.
If you’ve ever been to Jockey’s Ridge, you know what it is. It’s a HUGE area of massive sand dunes. I walked all through it in high school once and I’ll never do it again, HAHA. But from the air, it looked so small and non-threatening. It was insane. We flew over the sound, the marshes, and then over the ocean over Nags Head. We saw the houses, some of which have been condemned.
Overall, it was so. damn. cool. And not once was I anxious or nervous about it – I was just so excited! Which is so weird. But I was literally on a high the whole time, I was so happy and so freakin’ excited over it. I can’t wait to do it again, next time hopefully over NYC!
Coming back down to the ground was alarming to me because the sounds were different as we descended, but once I realized that’s where the noise was coming from, it was fine. LOL.
