Happy Monday, lovies! I think my goal for the Spring/Summer is to not touch another pair of shorts. Lol, just kidding. But really – I think they’re one of the most uncomfortable pieces ever. Especially after the cold seasons when your legs have been in hiding for 3-6 months.

So, what’s a pasty girl to do when the weather starts to turn? MAXIS! Not to say you should feel like you need to hide, but I always seem to require a transition period when the seasons change and I need to get comfortable with my legs being all exposed again. I’ve grown to be very modest since I’ve gotten older (sicker, bigger, etc.) And while I am uuuuuusually fairly body positive, I still struggle with acceptance and feeling good in my skin. So. Maxis are some of my favorite go-tos!

The over the shoulder trend is my favorite so this was an obvious choice for me. (Thanks, Primp Boutique!)

This particular dress can be found hereand while you’re checking it out, be sure to see the rest of their collection! There are so many adorable summer dresses on their website – I definitely have my eye on a few others!

I styled this dress suuuuper simple, because honestly, that’s my favorite. I don’t really love to wear a ton of jewelry (every time I try, it usually comes off halfway through my day and ends up lost somewhere in my bag.) Some of my favorite accessories lately are my hats. I love them, I really do, but like. Where do you even wear them?! I can’t really wear them to work, and wearing them out is always weird if I’m not planning to spend the entire day outdoors? So they always end up in my styled blog photos because I wish I could wear them all the time. Anyways.

The color is so earthy and casual, which I love. But it could easily be dressed up for something a little fancier which makes it an awesome piece to keep in your wardrobe for the spring!

Happy shopping, friends!

  1. Love the color choice! And you’re definitely gorgeous. I totally understand not showing as much skin the older we get, but you are definitely rocking that dress! Thanks for sharing!

  2. That’s a pretty dress, I would love to have one like that, but different color. Maybe lilas. I really need a shopping day, now that you reminded me.

Lilac would be so pretty! My nails are actually that color right now. 🙂

  3. That dress looks perfect on you. You’re beautiful, girl! 💓 Being petite and 5 ft flat it’s so hard for me to pull a maxi. I can never find the dress with the perfect length for me.

Awe, you are too sweet! You can always get them hemmed!! I know it’s extra work and cost, but the comfort and ease is so totally worth it!
