Spring Fever

Good morning!! Happy Tuesday, guys! I’m excited because the weather seems to be taking a very early turn into Spring. I realize that that’s not really a good thing, but I love the warmer weather so I can’t help but to get a little excited when it starts to warm up! Even if it’s really not permanent- I’m taking full advantage.

Adulthood has seriously taken the creativity out of my OOTD’s the last few years – I think between my illness, weight gain, and just not having a ton of time to deal with “looking cute” I’ve been settling for jeans and a tee-shirt! Which isn’t a bad thing, I just used to dress myself a lot more different than that, and I miss it!

I want to show you guys you can still be cute and girly and stylish with a curvier figure and you can still wear things other than baggy, long, sized-way-too-big kind of clothing. I definitely got stuck in that cycle of wearing things that didn’t fit me properly, and while it was insanely comfy, it just didn’t wear well. Don’t get me wrong, I will never give up my big, soft tees, but I want to introduce new things into my wardrobe that make me feel good about myself!

The owner over at Candice Lou sent me this cute little ensemble for the spring time, and I love it! The skirt is a tiny reminder to lose 5 pounds, (LOL), but I love the floral pattern and the white crop top. They’re both pretty versatile pieces and I can see mixing and matching these with items I already own, which was really nice!

The Candice Lou Boutique online has a great selection of fashionable pieces and it’s full of things that can be paired perfectly with the basics we all keep in our wardrobes!

Don’t be afraid to try new pieces and step outside of your fashion comfort zone this spring!

Happy Shopping, friends!

  1. That skirt looks absolutely amazing on you! You look gorgeous 🙂
We just had 10cm more snow yesterday, just when I started to get on to the Spring mood haha! Although, I love snow so that’s not that bad haha.

    1. Oh my gosh you are too sweet! LOL. That’s insane! I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about the snow in and around Colorado! I think we’re pretty much sent for spring over here on the east coast 🙂

  2. I love the skirt, it is so pretty and teaming it with the white top is a definite Spring look, hopefully the weather will stay warm for you over there so you can wear your outfit again over the next few weeks. It’s not so warm here in the UK as we had snow today but fingers crossed sunny days are just around the corner.

  • Today has been a day of mood swangin’
  • NYC: tolerant of your beliefs, judgmental of your shoes.
  • Thanking the heavens for @otbtshoes and their chunky cute wedges. 😜 I didn’t think I could love them more and then they unveiled their “Layover” wedges! I’m so stoked to wear these like.. all spring and summer. 👏🏼

  • Shaking up my routine with Herbal Essences Blue Ginger & Micellar Water Shampoo and Ginger Conditioner. I’ve been way into bath/skin/hair care recently. Spending all my $$ on loofas and soaps. @herbalessences came in for the save with this one 😂 but also these smell great and make my hair feel amazeballs.

  • Quote of the day: “Be alone. Eat alone. Take yourself on dates. Sleep alone. In the midst of this, you will learn about yourself. You will grow. You will figure out what inspires you. You will curate your own dreams, your own beliefs, your own stunning clarity, and when you meet the person that makes your cells dance, you will be sure of it, because you will be sure of yourself.”
  • Been sleeping all day in anticipation for super bowl food
  • Today I’m grateful for the things about me that I always considered to be my “bad” qualities.
I think “bad” qualities are something we all possess, but I also think they’re useful in the sense that they do a job to weed the people out of our lives that aren’t beneficial to our end game- whatever that may be.
So I’m listing my “bad” qualities this morning and I’m going to repurpose them. What good have they brought me?
Some of the good I’ve come up with include: clarity, new surroundings, a chance to do what i need for myself, a new appreciation for life, love for myself that I didn’t realize I had, and so many more.
If you’re feeling especially down about yourself, I challenge you to make a list of the things you don’t love and repurpose them. Think about what kind of good came out of your bad qualities and embrace that.
I fully believe we are who we are for a reason and we should probably stop trying to be what we think people want us to be, and we should just.. be. Good, bad, and everything in between. You’ll be surprised who and what you attract.
