Easy Fix for Winter Skin + Lips

My skin this winter has been HORRIBLE. I am usually pretty oily so when winter rolls around, my skin is perfect. But since I’ve been on the Humira, I’ve been struggling with some bad dry skin! It’s a known side effect, so that on top of my tendency to have dryer skin in the winter has made me desperate for some good products.

The Trifectaaaa! Lush lip scrubbies, Olay face cream, and the visibly soft eos balm.

Lush has a handful of organic and edible lip scrubs and I’m totally obsessed! I have a bad habit of peeling and picking at the dry skin on my lips, and this stuff has been my saving grace! They’re about $10-$11 a pod and they come in a few different flavors. You can see all their lip products here, but the one I’m using is the Mint Julips (puns, lol). It tastes so yummy and feels so good, and it takes care of all that dry skin which saves my life. Or the life of my lips, anyway. AAAAND this one is vegan!

Then I follow with eos. I have loved using their balms and I have them stashed everywhere. This one stays on the tray on our living room coffee table. I have an eos stick in my purse, in my car, at work, and in the crack between my bed and the wall. Just in case. This is another one of my fave eos balms – it’s a stick so it fits in purse pockets better, and it’s organic!

Olay makes a face cream that is non-greasy that I’m obsessed with (here) I use it every morning and night after I wash my face. It’s helps so much, because my forehead literally gets so itchy I leave scratches. UGH. But I also la-la-love this body lotion! It smells amazing and it has a little shimmer!

I don’t know if you’ve tried the Bath and Body Works shimmer mousse, but… it’s so awesome! It has a slight shimmer, smells according to whatever scent you choose (they have TONS) and it’s a MOUSSE. Mousse is one of my favorite things to apply to my skin – I use a mousse tanning lotion too and it’s perfection. Anyway, it rubs in really well, and so quickly, and it dries fast, too! I can’t find it on their website anymore, but any mousse lotion is fine and you can always find things they’ve discontinued on Amazon and Ebay!

I hope you’re all successfully fighting off the winter skin, and if you’re not, I hope this helps!!

  • Today I’m grateful for the things about me that I always considered to be my “bad” qualities.
I think “bad” qualities are something we all possess, but I also think they’re useful in the sense that they do a job to weed the people out of our lives that aren’t beneficial to our end game- whatever that may be.
So I’m listing my “bad” qualities this morning and I’m going to repurpose them. What good have they brought me?
Some of the good I’ve come up with include: clarity, new surroundings, a chance to do what i need for myself, a new appreciation for life, love for myself that I didn’t realize I had, and so many more.
If you’re feeling especially down about yourself, I challenge you to make a list of the things you don’t love and repurpose them. Think about what kind of good came out of your bad qualities and embrace that.
I fully believe we are who we are for a reason and we should probably stop trying to be what we think people want us to be, and we should just.. be. Good, bad, and everything in between. You’ll be surprised who and what you attract.
