Happy Monday guys!! I hope we all had a great weekend. Mine was a bit… cray. But I’ll get into that in another post. Today we’re talkin’  boyfriend jeans! I love the look of boyfriend jeans, I won’t lie. But I think what I like about them is how they sort of hang off the models I’ve seen wear them, and they just look really  loose, comfortable, and wearable.

UNFORTUNATELY,  if you’ve got ass and thighs, it’s hard to find boyfriend jeans that even look like boyfriend jeans. Like I don’t know what the difference is between tight jeans or anything else. Like everything is tight when you fill out your size. So I had the hardest time finding comfy jeans that looked like the sought-after “boyfriend jeans”.

So I made my damn OWN. At Kohl’s they have these Sonoma Goods For Life jeans that I bought a size bigger than what I normally get. They’re loose fitting, and they fit like, well, boyfriend jeans.

Then I took a serrated bread knife and shredded ’em up a bit. I like holey, distressed jeans and I like the holey boyfriend jean trend, so I took it a step further.

I stuffed the leg I was working on with a hard surface and went to town. I like this method as opposed to using a scissor cut and pulling out the threads because 1) It’s faster. 2) it’s messier. and 3) it’s 100x easier. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to rough up the pockets, the hem, and the waist!

And if you’re curious, I got my top at Belk, there’s a similar one here, my shoes at Payless, (currently on sale for $15!) and the necklace is from Forever21 (which I couldn’t find online, but you can find similar here!)

  1. I totally want to buy these jeans just because of how good they look on you. Also looking at the photo, I never would have guessed you ripped them yourself!!

    1. Awe thanks!!! I was a liiiiiiiittle impressed with myself with it, not gunna lie. It’s the first time I’ve ever been happy with it!!

  2. I love these jeans, you have given them such a fantastic look and you would never have known that you had done them yourself. Your whole outfit looks really good too 🙂

  • NYC: tolerant of your beliefs, judgmental of your shoes.
  • Thanking the heavens for @otbtshoes and their chunky cute wedges. 😜 I didn’t think I could love them more and then they unveiled their “Layover” wedges! I’m so stoked to wear these like.. all spring and summer. 👏🏼

  • Shaking up my routine with Herbal Essences Blue Ginger & Micellar Water Shampoo and Ginger Conditioner. I’ve been way into bath/skin/hair care recently. Spending all my $$ on loofas and soaps. @herbalessences came in for the save with this one 😂 but also these smell great and make my hair feel amazeballs.

  • Quote of the day: “Be alone. Eat alone. Take yourself on dates. Sleep alone. In the midst of this, you will learn about yourself. You will grow. You will figure out what inspires you. You will curate your own dreams, your own beliefs, your own stunning clarity, and when you meet the person that makes your cells dance, you will be sure of it, because you will be sure of yourself.”
  • Been sleeping all day in anticipation for super bowl food
  • Today I’m grateful for the things about me that I always considered to be my “bad” qualities.
I think “bad” qualities are something we all possess, but I also think they’re useful in the sense that they do a job to weed the people out of our lives that aren’t beneficial to our end game- whatever that may be.
So I’m listing my “bad” qualities this morning and I’m going to repurpose them. What good have they brought me?
Some of the good I’ve come up with include: clarity, new surroundings, a chance to do what i need for myself, a new appreciation for life, love for myself that I didn’t realize I had, and so many more.
If you’re feeling especially down about yourself, I challenge you to make a list of the things you don’t love and repurpose them. Think about what kind of good came out of your bad qualities and embrace that.
I fully believe we are who we are for a reason and we should probably stop trying to be what we think people want us to be, and we should just.. be. Good, bad, and everything in between. You’ll be surprised who and what you attract.

  • Somethin about being sweet and wearing a crown. idk. I’m an asshole.
  • Life can get confusing.
Intentions can get lost.
Goals can change.
It’s just what happens. But I’m going to try my damndest to channel the inner freebird inside me and learn to roll with these changes instead of trying to control them.
We’re not in control of what happens. We’re only in control of our reactions and the choices we make.
