Of the new year, that is! This is the second winter I’ve been living with Kyle – which means the second snowy season I’ve spent alone! He’s a firefighter so when it snows, he usually gets called into work. He was scheduled to work today, but he’ll probably stay there tomorrow as well. It’s a little… uneasy feeling when he’s working in inclement weather. Especially this year since he’s switched houses, he works closer to Interstate 95 so he’ll be responding to anything that happens there. LUCKILY – they didn’t have him working 48 hours, just 36, then he got 24 off which means we got to take snowy pictures! I felt all 26 degrees –  IT WAS SO COLD.

When it comes to being alone, I’m okay with it. I’ve made peace with being alone. I enjoy it, really. I get to get crafty, watch whatever I want on TV, I can sit on my laptop all day if I want, and I don’t have to share Mav cuddles. LOL.

Speaking of Mav… this was his first snow! He wasn’t sure what to do with it.

It was sleeting most of Saturday night but started snowing around 11pm-12am on Sunday. And when we woke up it was a winter woooooonderland!

Today I stayed in bed until 11:30 am, made some coffee, ate my cereal + coconut milk, and then watched 3 hours of “Beyond Scared Straight”, did a mask, took a bath with a little bath bomb, did my brows, got dressed, took some photos of the snow, and snuggled.

This has actually been the theme for the last 4 days. School has been canceled this week (so far) so I haven’t been at work. It’s been 4 days of no motivation, naps, Hulu binges, and stuffing my face. I hope everyone is enjoying the snow if you have it, or the chilly weather at least!

  1. Snow is such a wonderful thing! <3
That book looks like an interesting read, I might need to get my hands to one haha 😀

It is! I love it. Especially because it doesn’t ever last more than a few days at a time! muahaha. It’s really good, I definitely recommend!

He did get to come enjoy the snowy weather with me eventually!

  2. I admire your choice and the way you handle it. Being at peace with someone’s absence, is actually very difficult. Bravo 🙂 PS. Wonderful photos!

It definitely is.. But you have to weigh the pros and cons, and he’s totally worth a few lonely snow days. 🙂 Thank you!

Thanks Scott! I’m sure once we’re in a bigger house, we’ll have dogs too. But for now, he’s perfect!
