1.  Lose your clothing ► I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I go to grab a top or a pair of shoes and they’re just… missing. Gone. Nowhere to be found. I’m not sure if they got lost in transport, were left behind, or they grew legs and walked away themselves.

2. Have a toothbrush that stays home and have a toothbrush that never leaves your suitcase. ► It’s inevitable that I forget to pack something I need when I’m away and it’s almost always my toothbrush. I don’t want to know how much I’ve spent on replacement toothbrushes. So I started keeping one at home and keeping one in my suitcase and now I don’t even need to  remember to grab it. LOL.

3. You never really  unpack. You pack last minute and then unpacking really never actually occurs. That actually might contribute to losing half my wardrobe.

4. Spontaneity > schedules and structure always.  ► It’s not just something you do, it’s literally something you live by.

5.  You’re overly dramatic about leaving your pets. ► My sister sent me this meme and it’s very accurate.

  1. Couldn’t agree more about the pet thing, I always feel really guilty about leaving my cat behind, as for the suitcase unpacking I now have two “wardrobes” one is the suitcase full of “travel/holiday” clothes the other is my day to day wear lol

Kitty that is SO SMART. I definitely have like… a “go to” wardrobe that I know I will want wherever I go. So there’s literally no thinking involved in packing. but that’s genius.

  2. Can’t agree more about the toothbrush thing. I think it’s just convenient to put one in your suitcase. Or even toiletries. I always have one even in my everyday bag. Haha

  3. I hardly travel anywhere, i last time that i did travel was to my cousin for a few weeks of holiday for me. But yes everything i forget something somewhere. If it’s not a lipgloss then it’s a loofah that i forgot to pack in.

  4. I definitely abide by the toothbrush rule. I don’t travel as much as I’d like to, but I definitely fly far more than I’d like. The essentials are always essential enough to buy two of haha

yes, always! There is stuff that just LIVES in my weekend bag! Then I never forget!

  5. So true. When I was a flight attendant I always used to keep a spare toothbrush in my suitcase because I would always forget one

  6. I don’t travel that often but I would love to! As I have to store my suitcases I try to empty them as soon as I get back home. Otherwise I will never unpack haha

SAME! But I never do empty them when I get home, so unpacking seems to be a very lengthy process…

  7. Love this post, the losing clothes thing has been my life this past year. I live in South America so I usually do all my traveling on a bus, and seem to almost always lose a sweater or shirt it’s just awful lol. Great post I can definitely relate!

I would love to visit South America! But yeah- same! I don’t have proper luggage, so I use several different bags. I also suck at packing so things just get thrown in them. It’s really no surprise I lose things. LOL

  8. I definitely agree with this list. We never really fully unpack either. Also, we don’t plan the day too much. We live by spontaneity! I don’t have a pet so I really wouldn’t know the feeling 🙁 I would love a miniature schnauzer though! Great one and happy new year, Kaleigh!
