Good morning, guys! after changing our weekend plans a thousand times, we wound up just staying home. Which was best because I was so sick yesterday and I’m glad we didn’t go anywhere! I was all in my baking feels so I picked up a couple things to make an apple pie!
I’m not a big fan of apple pie, but was really craving it for some reason. I got 7 granny smith apples and probably only used 5? I had a lot of apple slices left that didn’t fit in the pre-made graham cracker crust I bought.
I love the crumble tops for apple pies, so that’s what I went with! It was a cup of flour, 1/2 C of sugar, 1/2 C of brown sugar, and 1/2 C butter. Then cinnamon & mix it all together! I doubled the recipe because I LOVE the crumble. It’s the best part of the pie, in my opinion. Also, I subbed the sugar for Truvia. I would give you a conversion but… I just eyeballed this, honestly. 🙈 I’M NOT A BAKER OKAY?
The filling was apple slices, a few tablespoons of flour, 1/2 C Truvia, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1/2 butter because we didn’t have any lemon… we definitely needed the lemon.
Then you just press the topping into the filling and pop it into the oven for 15 minutes at 450. Then 45 minutes at 350!
Ice cream or whipped cream would’ve made this even better, but I didn’t want to run back to the store, so I settled for a homemade latte and had myself a little dessert! It was so yummy & so friggin’ easy to make!
